Paideia - DAO Management Software Suite
Smart-contract-enforced DAO governance on Ergo and Cardano with treasury management, on-chain proposals, and custom indexing, founded and led by me with contracts audited by Ergo's designer.
Outcome
Live for years with zero exploits.
The team I led built and ran Paideia's on-chain governance across Ergo and Cardano, and it has managed real treasury funds for years with zero exploits. The Cardano expansion was funded by a Project Catalyst grant.
Overview
Decentralized organizations promise on-chain governance but often deliver advisory voting that founders can override, which defeats the purpose. I founded Paideia and led the distributed team that built it, along with the threat modeling and the design decisions. It is a full DAO management platform on Ergo and later Cardano with smart-contract-enforced governance, where approved proposals execute treasury spends directly on-chain rather than waiting for someone to act on the result. The on-chain contracts were written by the ErgoScript contract author on the team, and Kushti, the designer of Ergo, audited the Ergo contracts. The platform runs on custom blockchain indexing infrastructure deployed across self-hosted nodes in Europe and Canada, with a custom API layer on top of the indexed chain data that powers proposal creation, staking, and treasury management. Paideia has run for years on Ergo with zero exploits, and the Cardano expansion was funded by a Catalyst grant and delivered with a new frontend and an Aiken-based contract suite.
What it does
- Approved proposals execute treasury spends directly on-chain, so governance outcomes cannot be silently overridden by administrators.
- DAO creators configure quorum thresholds, majority thresholds, and whitelisted proposal types per organization.
- Token staking with configurable emissions and profit sharing gives DAOs flexible mechanisms for member alignment.
- The treasury system allocates funds on-chain based on community votes, with a full audit trail of every disbursement.
- Custom blockchain indexing infrastructure runs on self-hosted nodes in Europe and Canada, providing the API layer that powers proposal queries and chain analytics.
- A separate Cardano implementation written in Aiken brings the same governance and treasury capabilities to a second blockchain ecosystem.
